IFCM -USA has been incorporated in the USA as an independent non-profit organisation. It has chapters in Philadelphia, Boston, Lansing, Pittsburgh and Austin.

IFCM-USA has conducted workshops and courses by Sangeeta Kalanidhi T K Govinda Rao and Ravikiran in Philadelphia, San Jose, Washington DC, Cleveland and Atlanta. Workshops include:

· Saptaratnas of Oottukkadu Venkata Kavi (Houston, Dallas, Pittsuburgh, Austin, Sacramento)

· Navagraha and Panchalinga krtis of Muttuswami Dikshitar, Ratna-tryas of Shyama Shastri, Masterpieces of Swati Tirunal and Purandara Dasa (San Jose)

· Pancharatnas of Tyagaraja (Philadelphia)

Centres for Musical Excellence have been set up in Buffalo, NY, Austin, TX and a new one was launched recently in Detroit/Lansing, MI. Students interested in joining these centres may contact the relevant teachers listed in the Contact page.

The IFCM intends to open more such centres in other cities with competent teachers. Those interested in applying for faculty positions may email IFCM. The minimum requirements are: (a) teaching or performing experience of 5 years or more and (b) passion to propagate values of perfection with correctness and desire to instill self-enjoyment among learners.

Concerts and lectures are also occasionally organised featuring eminent artistes on themes like ragam tanam pallavi.

Taking it further, IFCM-USA has introduced Carnatic music to hitherto unexplored areas by collaborating with corporate entities such as Lucent Technologies in USA.

With a Board of Directors that includes Bhanu Jayaraman - Boston (Ph: 617 332 7737 / 617 596 4447, Email: Bhanu.Jay@staples.com) Ramana Kanumalla - Philadelphia and Uday Shankar - Chennai, the IFCM-USA intends to initiate steps to create Departments of Carnatic music in major Universities, get into collaborations with musicians and orchestras of other cultures, propagate the works of master composers of Carnatic Music, present concerts and conduct more camps and workshops for students in various cities.
